How To Make Your Eggs
Wash your eggs in warm soapy water; rinse and dry. Blow out eggs into a bowl by making a small hole in one end and a bit larger hole at the other end of the eggs. (Reserve the egg contents for baking or scrambling.) Rinse out the egg shell and allow to dry.
For the bunny: Glue the eyes on the round end of the egg, about 1/3 down from the top of the egg. Glue on an oval or round jewel for the nose about 1/3 of the way down or in the middle of the egg, centered between the eyes. With a marking pen, add whiskers and mouth if desired. Add a white pompom for the bunny tail just below the center of the opposite end of the egg.
For the chick:
For colored eggs, dye with food coloring in desired color. Allow to dry. With an old toothbrush, dip in a contrasting food coloring and pull your finger nail over the bristles to speckle the eggs. Glue the eyes about 1/3 down from the top of the egg. Add eyelashes with a marking pen. Cut a small wedge of orange or yellow felt for the beak. Cut two 1″ scalloped triangles for the wings and glue to the center of each side of the egg. Glue a handmade or purchased bow to the top of the head.
Use Photos as Visual guide for Chicks
If you’re using the napkin rings, separate at the glued seam and glue onto the egg in about the center of the egg. Glue small flowers, jewels or small bows to the ears if desired.
Display in a basket or Easter dish. These can be carefully stored in a box with dividers for future use.
