To make your own Crème Fraiche refer to the link below. It's very versatile and quite expensive to purchase. Crème Fraiche is simply aged cream. As the cream matures it becomes thicker with a mild tartness. It's easy to make your own to have on hand anytime you want a bit of fancy flair to your meals. It can be used in place of sour cream, whipped cream, cream cheese and even used in creamy pasta for another level of flavor.
Ingredients:
1 C. Creme Fraiche
1 C. Heavy Cream
1 Can Sweetened Condensed Milk
1/2 C. Frozen fruit (blueberries, strawberries or combined berries)
Directions:
Beat the heavy cream until stiff peaks form. Fold in the Creme Fraiche and condensed milk. Add the berries and combine. Pour into freezer containers. Cover with plastic wrap. Freeze 4-6 hours.
To use: Serve over brownies, use for Ice Cream Sundaes or Ice Cream Sodas.
