Chicken Coop Chatter©
LIGHT BRAHMA: We currently have the Light Brahma, with feathered legs. This is a large breed of chicken, suitable for cold regions due to their heavy feathering and smaller combs. Roosters weigh 12 pounds (and as much as 14 pounds has been recorded). Cockerel's weigh 10 pounds. Brahmas are calm, friendly birds that make good pets or exhibition fowl.
Males are calm and generally non-aggressive toward humans. They are not skittish or easily scared, making them a popular choice for families with children. Due to their docile demeanor, Brahmas can be easily trained at an early age, so that they can be handled by almost anyone.
They are a sweet bird and excellent layer, laying a large cream colored egg, very calm, great free ranger and is easy going cooped up. The roosters are very alert and do a wonderful job of watching their ladies. If you like the Buff Orpington for personality, you'll like the Brahma, very much the same temperament. The light brahma has a base color of white, with black hackles edged in white and a black tail. The Brahma is very hardy in winter and has a small comb, so frostbite is not generally an issue, the hens lay a large number of eggs and the breed makes a nice-size table bird.

Kendy F ~~Just Fowling Around
*I just hatched 7 (of) 8 eggs) beautiful little Brahma chicks, shipped from Justflowingaround! Great hatch rate for shipped eggs, and these chicks are stong and beautiful! Thank you!*
This was my first time hatching eggs and my first time purchasing eggs from another state - can't get much farther than Washington (I'm from Maine)! They were packaged beautifully, all arrived as ordered (additional eggs were given as well) and none of them were broken! Also, the JFA eggs were all confirmed fertile when I candled at day 7 and they are all robust and strong chicks! I can't thank JFA enough for the quality of their eggs, and the great communication they have had with me! THANK YOU! Heidi :)
