2 1/2 cups Dry beans
2 cups smoked chicken meat (Cooked or canned chicken meat will work fine)
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. garlic powder
1 tsp. smoked paprika
1 can creamed corn
Rinse the dry beans and remove shriveled and broken beans. Pour the beans into a kettle and cover with hot water overnight or at least 4 hours. Rinse and drain. Pour the beans into the slow cooker and cover with water (or chicken or vegetable broth). Cook 4 hours on high. Add the chicken meat, seasoning and vegetables. Turn on low to cook another 4 hours. Serve with cornbread, biscuits or warm oven-fresh bread.
NOTE: Always season to taste and add vegetables of choice. You may prefer to use canned chicken meat or left over cooked/smoked chicken meat.
