4 drops Hickory flavored liquid Smoke
Stir Salt and liquid smoke together until fully incorporated. Spread the salt mixture evenly onto a clean cookie sheet and set in the oven at 225 degrees, stirring periodically to aid in drying. When dry, funnel into a spice jar or salt shaker.
Smoked Hickory Salt
Method 2
Another method I use for making my own Smoke flavored Salt is to place 1 cup salt into a heat proof container or on a small cookie sheet and place in my meat smoker when I am smoking meat. Stir a few times during the smoking process. The salt takes on the smoked flavor regardless of what wood chips you use. Make sure the salt is completely dry before storing in an air tight container. Smoked salt adds just a hint of smoky flavor to your favorite dishes. Use as you would regular salt and adjust to your own tastes.
