Yield: 1 Heart Wreath
Ingredients:
1 tube crescent dough
1 can Strawberry Pie filling or Canned-Frozen or Fresh Strawberries
1 8 oz. package Cream Cheese
1/2 cup powdered sugar
2 T. Strawberry juice (reserved from the strawberries
2 T. Corn Starch
1 T. Sugar (optional or to taste)
1/4 tsp. Almond extract
Directions:
Mix 1/4 cup strawberry pie filling with softened cream cheese. Spread on the divided Crescent roll dough, top with equal portions of pie filling. Roll up with seam side sealed, form into a ring in a 12" Cast Iron skillet. Bake at 375 degrees 15-20 minutes. Mix the powdered sugar with reserved strawberry juice until thin glaze consistency. Drizzle over the Crescent ring. Serve warm or room temperature.
Glaze:
Mix a bit of the juice with Corn starch and sugar, stir into the remaining juice and heat until thickened. Add the berries and stir. Crush some of the berries while leaving some partially whole.
Serving Suggestion: Dust with powdered sugar
