What you need:
Spice jars with lids (or mason jars)
Jar Funnel
Whisk
Bowl
Measuring spoons and Cups
Spices
Spice Grinder (Useful but not necessary)
Ingredients
Mix Option # 1
Yield: Enough for 1 recipe using 1 tsp. per recipe
1 tsp. Ground Cinnamon
1/4 tsp. Ground Ginger
1/4 tsp. Ground Cloves
1/4 tsp. Ground Nutmeg
Mix Option # 2
Yield: Enough for 2 recipes using 1 tsp. per recipe
2 tsp. Ground Cinnamon
1 tsp. Ground Ginger
1/4 tsp. Ground Nutmeg
1/4 tsp. Ground Cloves
1/4 tsp. Ground Cardamom
1/2 tsp. Lemon Zest
Mix the spices together thoroughly with a whisk. Fill the spice jars and fasten down the lids. Store in a cool, dark cupboard or pantry. Shake before using.
Uses: Though this is Pumpkin Pie Spice mix, it is suitable for many desserts. Pumpkin Bread, Pumpkin Cornbread. Candied Sweet Potatoes, Pumpkin Pancakes. The flavors are suitable for squash, pumpkin, and sweet potatoes.
Note: As always, adjust to your own taste. If you like more Ginger flavor add more, if you like less Cinnamon, add less. Add or omit as you prefer. The mixes can be as unique as you are and according to your family preferences.
