Sealable gallon size bag
1 pound thick sliced bacon
2-4 tsp. Pure Maple Extract
3-4 T. Brown Sugar
Basting Brush
Baste the bacon slices with the maple extract. Place inside the sealable bag. Sprinkle the brown sugar into the bag and seal; massage the bag to coat with the brown sugar. Allow to marinate overnight, periodically massaging the bag to fully coat the bacon. Place the strips of bacon on a baking sheet and bake at 350 degrees 5-10 minutes, turn the bacon and finish baking until done (about another 5-10 minutes). Or fry in a cast iron skillet, turning to cook both sides. Serve with your favorite morning toast and eggs, pancakes or waffles.
Note: I have made the bacon using just the maple flavoring and just the brown sugar. All three methods taste great and add to the morning meal.
