Squash and the seeds are healthy for you, so when you cook squash be sure to reserve the seeds to make kid friendly snacks.
Ingredients
1 tsp. Cinnamon Sugar
Seeds from squash (Cleaned of pulped)
Directions
Scoop the seeds from the fresh cut squash. Place in a sieve or strainer with small holes. Rinse and remove the pulp (reserve the pulp for the chickens). Place the rinsed seeds on a foil lined cooking sheet. Sprinkle with cinnamon sugar. Place in 400 degree oven for abou 10 minutes until golden brown. Remove from the oven and allow to cool. Eat as is, or add to granola mixes and other healthy snack choices.
If you're not fond of squash seeds, be sure to give the pulp and seeds to the chickens, they love it and it's a good healthy treat for them. Just add it to their grains, or vegetable scraps. (Do not the cinnamon sugar if making for the chickens.
